Spilled Milk and Root Rot began as a creative outlet somewhere between motherhood, houseplants, exhaustion, grief, humour, and a growing collection of strange ideas.
It wasn’t created to become a business.
It wasn’t created to become a brand.
It was simply a place to put the thoughts, stories, artwork and odd little fragments that didn’t seem to belong anywhere else.
Over time those fragments took root.
A character named Dahlia emerged from the soil. Plant obituaries were written. Prophecies appeared. The Tarot of Unravelling was created. What began as a collection of ideas slowly became a world of its own.
SMRR lives somewhere between dark humour and hope, between thriving and barely surviving, between caring for plants, raising children, and trying to keep yourself alive in the process.
This space exists as part archive, part creative journal, part ongoing experiment.
The Rootbound Archives hold the stories behind the artwork, the merchandise, the tarot cards, the ideas, the failures, the successes, and the occasional descent into complete chaos.
If you’ve found your way here, welcome to the Root.
